Back To Our Core
We have had a large influx of new members lately, and wanted to get back to the core of who we are and our principles. This week is about the basic principles that we at The Fit Collective believe in and do our absolute best to live by!
THINGS TO PRACTICE:
1. Whole foods. Strive to eat whole foods this week. This means unprocessed and natural foods. Go organic when possible! Shop on the outside edges of the grocery store. Buy local and fresh when possible. Eat clean, healthy, whole foods!
2. Extra cardio workouts. We love our strength workouts, but that is only the start of your weekly workouts. Make sure to get at least 2 extra cardiovascular training workouts in per week. This could be your run training, bike workouts, swim workouts, a rowing machine or other heart pounding sweat session. These workouts should focus on quality and intensity.
3. Track your steps. Track your daily steps. Shoot for at least 10,000 steps. For a bonus, target 12,00o steps. Steps count toward your non-exercise activity thermogenesis (NEAT). NEAT is extremely important with weight management, not too mention the effects on stress reduction and postural correction.
4. Avg 7 hours of sleep. Sleep seems harder and harder to come by in our fast paced society. Make sure to track your sleep to see what you are really getting and try to avg. 7 hours of sleep over the course of the week. Make up for your short nights when you can, so your weekly average is 7 hours per night.
