Have A Little Fun
Welcome to the week of July 22. We want you to have a little fun this week and play! A great deal of benefit can come from play and getting back to what you did as a kid where things are less structured and just more fun. Have some fun this week with your sweat sessions and have a great week.
THINGS TO PRACTICE:
1. Monitor Caffeine. A little bit of caffeine definitely has its place in a healthy diet, but excessive amounts can disrupt your bodies chemistry and leave you dependent on it to function. Make sure you are not dependent on large amounts of caffeine to function this week. 1-2 cups of coffee is fine, but more than that is overkill. Make sure to look at all the sources of caffeine in your diet, not just coffee. Caffeine can come from lots of sources… coffee, tea, dark chocolate, meal replacement shakes, pre-workout mixes, etc.
2. Make Time For Play. It is time to get back to what you did as a kid when exercise and sweating was less structured and more about having fun. That does not give you an excuse to skip your workouts this week, but is an encouragement to you to find opportunities this week to play. Pick some activities you truly enjoy and that will bring a smile to your face. There are tremendous psychological benefits to play and it can be a great stress reducer. Look for opportunities for play this week.
